When My Phone LED Blinks Purple
When my phone LED blinks purple,
Your face returns in gentle ripple.
Your smile, glowing in warm light,
Makes my heart ache deep at night.
I leave my work and all behind,
To read your text — my sunshine.
That dull, miserable workspace
Lights up with your name, your face.
The figures on my glaring screen
And AC's chill turn soft and green.
My lazy limbs, my tired soul,
One text from you makes me whole.
That message tone, so sweet, so light,
Turns heavy days into delight.
I read your words, then wait in hope —
Another text, my healing rope.
I reply with heart and thought,
Each word simple, but finely wrought.
"I love you too" once came with grace —
Now it’s silence I embrace.
What once was random, full of cheer,
Is now just echoes I hold near.
Alone I stand in pouring rain,
Wondering why I caused such pain.
Did all I do bring you to tears,
Right from the start through all the years?
I try my best to hold mine in,
But eyes betray the hurt within.
I find a way to text once more,
Though I was harsh, my heart is sore.
When my phone LED blinks purple,
Your face returns in gentle ripple.
